Israel's New Plot to Occupy Northern Iraq

Israel plans to occupy or come in control of the lands in Northern Iraq in a move to materialize its 'Greater Israel' dream, a US columnist disclosed.

Wayne Madsen, in an article wrote that Israel has plans to relocate thousands of Kurdish Jews from Israel to the Iraqi cities of Mosul and Nineveh under the guise of religious pilgrimage to ancient Jewish religious shrines.

Israelis are expansionists and their intentions to take full control of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and permanently keep the Golan Heights of Syria and expand into Southern Lebanon have already been well known, and now they also have their eyes on parts of Iraq as part of the Zionist regime's dream for "Greater Israel", it added.

Kurdish Israelis began to buy land in Iraqi Kurdistan, after the US invasion in 2003, and the Zionist regime claims the lands are part of its historical property, the article wrote.

The Israelis are particularly interested in the shrine of the Jewish prophet Nahum in al-Qush, the prophet Jonah in Mosul, the tomb of the prophet Daniel in Kirkuk, the shrine of Ezekiel in the village of al-Kifl in Babel Province near Najaf and the tomb of Ezra in al-Uzayr in Misan Province, near Basra, the last two ones in Southern Iraq. Israeli expansionists claim these shrines and tombs are part of the Zionist regime's property, the article said.

Kurdish and Iraqi sources report that Israel's Mossad mercenaries and Kurdish militias have staged terrorist attacks against Chaldean Christians in Iraq, particularly in Nineveh, Irbil, al-Hamdaniya, Bartalah, Talasqaf, Batnayah, Bashiqah, Elkosheven, Uqrah, and Mosul. These attacks by the Israelis and their allies are usually reported as being the responsibility of "al-Qaeda", the article added.

The Israeli-Christian Zionist operation is a replay of the depopulation of the Palestinians in the British mandate of Palestine and replacing them with Zionists after World War II.

The Israeli land acquisition activities are supported both by the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party, headed by Masoud Barzani and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan led by the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.

In June 2003, a delegation of Israelis visited Mosul and said that it was Israel's intentions, with the assistance of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Masoud Barzani, to establish Israeli control of the shrine of Jonah in Mosul and the shrine of Nahum in the Mosul plains.

The ultimate aim of the Israelis is to depopulate the Christian population in and around Mosul and claim the land as part of the "Greater Israel".
